Canada has competed at all 15 Men's World Team Championships. The Team has finished in the top 8 at each of the last 7 championships and has a highest placing of 2nd, which it obtained at the 1997 World Team Championships in Luala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The last world team championships took place in Chennai, Inda in 2007. The team finished 6th, losing to Malaysia in the 5th place game. England won the championships, defeating Australia in the final. France finished 3rd place, defeating the number 1 seed Egypt.
Egypt will be the heavy favorite for the 2009 championships fielding a likely team that will feature 3of the worlds top 4 players. Chasing Egypt will be England and France who will both feature two players in the worlds top 10.
